Comments

When visitors leave comments on my site, and after those comments are checked for spam, and I approve them, the comments are posted in the comment section for anyone who visits my site to view. The data shown in the comments form and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. This protects me and my visitors.

If you use a Gravatar, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Visitors to my website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

You can access the Contact page from my Home page. If you contact me through this page, I will receive a private email with your comments, questions, personal contact information, etc. I will only use the contact information you share with me to communicate with you. No one else can see this information, and I will not share it with anyone else.

Cookies

I do not advertise or sell anything through my site, so I will not personally connect you with any cookies. But, if you visit my site, your web browser may connect you with cookies for related sites in an attempt to connect you with sites or services you may desire.

Embedded content from other websites

My site host, Bluehost, will only use your email address to inform you of new blog posts to this site.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data?

If you follow my site, or have left comments, and you no longer want to be associated with this site, you can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. I will do as you ask. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
